Job Description :
1. Preparation of Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) for high-rise residential (more than 20 Stories) with RCC walls/commercial projects and get the same approved from client billing department in advance of execution of work.
2. Reconciliation of Steel with respect to work progress and keeping in view the rolling margin, hook & Bend adjustment as per IS Code/General Notes, Work in Progress and permissibal wastage.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation & Review:
1- Prepare detailed Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) from structural and architectural drawings.
2- Ensure accurate cutting and bending details for steel reinforcement.
3- Optimize reinforcement usage to minimize wastage and reduce costs.
Coordination & Communication:
1- Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and site execution teams for accurate steel placement.
2- Provide technical guidance to site engineers and steel fixers regarding reinforcement detailing.
3- Work closely with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of reinforcement steel.
Quality & Compliance:
1- Ensure reinforcement work aligns with IS codes (or relevant standards) and project specifications.
2- Conduct site inspections to verify steel fixing as per BBS and structural drawings.
3- Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions and propose necessary modifications.
Documentation & Reporting:
1- Maintain records of steel consumption, wastage, and reconciliation reports.
2- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports on reinforcement work.
3- Assist in preparing bills of quantities (BOQ) and bar bending estimations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education: B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in high-rise building projects.
Technical Skills:
1- Strong knowledge of reinforcement detailing and structural drawings.
2- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and BBS preparation software.
3- Familiarity with IS 2502 (or relevant international codes for bar bending).
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
